The weird ramblings of a mystified scientist

Bloglines
Have you ever been frustrated about getting a ton of emails with table of contents (TOC's) from online journals? Did you read them or did you just delete them?

I know what I normally do... I read some and delete most of them. But, that's where bloglines.com will help you!

Basically this website will aggregate various rss feeds (a lot of biological journals have rss feeds with TOC's now) or let you email subscribe to TOC's.. and collect these in a nice viewable way, to let you sort through at *your* leisure, not when the email arrives :-). You can also "clip" interesting articles / links for later viewing when you have more time / have online access to the journal in question.

All in all it's just one of those things you end up unable to live without after just a few weeks. In other words, try it! Oh and remember you can also subscribe to the rss feed of this blog ;-).

A State Of Trance...
If there's one thing I like in this world, its trance. Especially when Armin van Buuren or one of my other favorites (Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Johan Gielen and more..) is mixing the records. Armin has a weekly radio show called "A State Of Trance" (also known as ASOT) on Digitally Imported and you can usually find the sets in downloadable form on the net only a few hours after the show has ended (or simply tune in to Armins homepage and listen to old shows).

One of the things that has been bugging me for a longtime, is the lack of information about the tracks being played. You can always go to Armins webpage to see the tracklist, but there's no timetable on the tracklist, so unless you know the track, it'll take you some time to figure out, what track you're listening to.

Solution: Cue sheets. Anuga has an awesome collection of cue sheets for trance sets, including ASOTs. Spandel.nl is another good source for cue sheets. A complete collection of ASOT tracklists (as opposed to the incomplete found at Armins website) can be found here.

With an appropriate plugin for either winamp (CUE Player) or xmms (mp3cue or cueinfo) listening to DJ sets and figuring out what song you're listening to, just became a lot easier :-).

And now.. back to ASOT 217.. mmhhh.

Which religion is the right one for you?
Stumbled acress this really weird test, which apparently tells you what kind of religion you belong to:

Oh, and here are my results.. apparently I'm quite close to being a satanist heh :-).

You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof). Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

agnosticism 92%
Satanism 83%
atheism 67%
Islam 67%
Buddhism 58%
Christianity 42%
Hinduism 42%
Paganism 42%
Judaism 29%
